Hold the smudge stick at a 45-degree angle, light the sage, let it burn for about 20 seconds and then gently blow out the flame so that you see orange embers on one end. Then you can start the process of clearing your space.

When you are finished, place your Sage Smudge stick on your smudge bowl, plate or a fireproof container.

Some research suggests that sage contains compounds that could help ease insomnia. Burning sage has also been used to improve sleep and soothe anxiety.
